• How much can I put in my sam portable storage and moving container?
  sam containers are approximately 16' long, 8' wide and 8' high with nearly 900 cubic feet of available space. Generally, sam will hold the contents from the main living area of a 1,500-square-foot home (basement, garage, patio and attic items may require an additional sam container). • How much weight can sam hold?
  While sam moving and storage containers hold up to 7,500 pounds, most of our customers typically get 4,000 to 5,000 pounds in the container due to item size and packaging constraints. If you load your sam with typical household belongings, you are not likely to exceed the 7,500-pound weight limit. However, if your storage needs include lots of books, magazines, tools, tool chests or other heavy items, remember to be careful to not exceed the maximum weight and that you may not be able to use all the container's available space. • What are sam containers made of?
  With fiberglass-reinforced plywood walls (the same sturdy material used in over-the-road trucks) and galvanized steel corners, sam containers offer a superior option to average portable storage containers. sam portable storage and moving containers have smooth interior walls and are waterproof, with a translucent roof that lets in light, making it easier for you to see while loading.

• Where should I have my sam container placed?
  For convenience, safety and security, we recommend placing sam in your driveway whenever possible. Placement on the street is another option. In either case, you are responsible for obtaining any necessary permits and complying with any and all local ordinances.

• Can I move my sam storage container after delivery?
  No, although sam has wheels, you will not be able to move sam after we've locked the wheels in place upon delivery. sam representatives will ask specific questions about where you'd like your sam placed, and if you are present when your sam container is delivered, you can show the driver exactly where you'd like it placed. If you change your mind about this location, we will return to reposition the container for you at an additional charge. This wheel-locking feature helps secure the sam containers and enhances safety.

• Where can I store my sam?
  Keep sam portable storage containers at your residence or have us store it at one of our secure, climate-controlled storage facilities. We'll store your sam container indoors or outdoors based on your preference, and while there is an additional charge for this, you can rest assured knowing your belongings are protected in a secure environment. Let us know when you'd like your sam returned to your site, and we'll deliver the container to you, saving you the hassle that comes with moving things in and out of a self-storage unit.



• How are items secured in a sam container?

• How can I access my sam container when it is stored at your location?
  You can make arrangements to have your sam delivered to your residence, or you may schedule a time to access your belongings at our storage facility. Please schedule storage facility visits 24 hours in advance by calling 800-get-asam (800-438-2726). For delivery to your location, please provide 48 hours notice.

• How do I pay?
  You may pay using your Visa®, Mastercard®, Discover® or American Express® credit card. You will be charged for the initial services when your sam portable storage and moving container is delivered to your residence. The charge amount will be held on your credit or debit card 24 hours prior to the event. If you keep a sam container longer than a month, you will be charged an additional month's rent for each subsequent month of rental. Other charges, such as returning the container to your residence from warehouse storage, may also be billed at a later date (based on when the service is performed) and the charge amount will be held on your credit or debit card 24 hours prior to the event.



• Do you offer insurance for my belongings?
  You are responsible for securing your items while in the container at your residence. Often, your homeowners insurance will provide coverage while at your residence and in transit; we recommend you check your policy. If you are storing your items at our warehouse, you can request contents insurance coverage through a third-party provider, TenantOne. • Can sam help me pack and load my belongings?
  No. sam only offers self-storage and moving services. In most states, regulations do not allow us to provide packing and loading services. However, the SAM Support Center can provide you with the names of professionals in your area who provide packing and loading services. sam does not accept any compensation for the referrals.

• Can sam move my things across the country?
  sam provides both local and one-way (long distance) moving services. Save yourself the stress and hassle of using a rental truck and use your sam storage container instead. With sam, you can load at your own pace and not worry about having to drive a large, unfamiliar truck. You'll also be able to load items at ground level, instead of hauling them up a narrow ramp. Are sam one-way rentals available in your area? On one-way moves, sam is a broker, meaning that sam will arrange to transport your container(s) via a selected interstate freight carrier. A local sam dealer will then deliver your container(s) to your new residence. Check our locations for details.
